John Wick with Keanu Reeves, Bridget Moynahan and Willem Dafoe (October 24, 2014)

What happens when a fire-breathing dragon is attacked? It makes ashes of its enemies; and all the fires of Hell cannot compete with the retribution coming their way.

John Wick (Keanu Reeves) retired from his profession as a hired assassin to enjoy a normal life with his wife (Bridget Moynahan) until she became terminally ill. John's heart ache became unbearable; his precious wife would soon be gone. His wife gave him a beagle puppy before she died because she wanted him to take care of something living. He would think about the puppy, play with the puppy and not be sad after she was gone.

When she died his world spun out of control, only the sweet little gift of love his wife gave him; a puppy saved him. John had something he had to feed and take care of during the night and day. He worked on his 1969 Ford Mustang, a super-fast power car and he never went anywhere without his puppy. He enjoyed his fast car and puppy, but he stayed close to home where he still grieved for his dead wife, but the puppy helped his bruised heart as time passed.
                                                                                                                                                                    John Wick's Paybacks are Final
One day while John was filling his gas tank at the station; two guys inquired about buying his car. John told them it was not for sale. Later the two guys broke into John’s home beat him senseless, killed his puppy and stole his car.

That was the biggest mistake of their criminal lives because John went after them for killing the puppy and stealing his car. And, many would pay for this unthinkable evil act against a man and his pet.

New York City would witness the revenge of a man who feared no living being and will kill the killers who killed a helpless puppy; they took everything from him.

John’s payback became complicated because one of the goons Losef Tarasov (Alfie Allen) was the son of Viggo Tarasov (Michael Nyqvist) a New York City Crime Boss.

Viggo warned his son: It is who you did this to not what you did. And, of course the son Losef with his gangster I.Q. stated he was not afraid of John Wick. Little did he know of what was coming his way; a retribution that would make him want to crawl into Hell with Satan opening the door for him. John Wick did not show mercy or forgiveness; he let his gun speak for him.

(Willem Dafoe) received a contract on John from Viggo Tarasov. And, Marcus’orders are to use everyone to go after John Wick.

It looks like Satan will be standing at his door for a long time letting the evil humans in to cool off from John Wick’s evening the score with vengence.

.Everyone from John’s past wanted to know if John is back and after a few shoot-outs he said: Yell, I’m thinking I’m back. And, he proved it in full-blown action mode leaving a trail of paybacks the city will never forget.

This is a movie I want to see because I love action movies and I will be in line on October 24th for my ticket---if God is willing and the creek don’t rise---I’ll be there to see one of my favorite actors Keanu Reeves.

Taken 3 with Liam Neeson, Maggie Grace and Forrest Whitaker-(January 9th 2015)

Bryan Mills (Liam Neeson) tried to live a normal life-like anyone else, but his enemies keep coming after him and his family.

He retired from the CIA as one of the best operative in the agency; so he could be near his daughter Kim (Maggie Grace) in California.

Kim lived with her mother and her step-father. Kim persuaded her father to let her go to Paris when she was 17 years old; with her friend Amanda (Katie Cassidy).

He gave in telling her she had to call him as soon as she got there. And, she promised she would.

                       TAKEN

First, in Taken his daughter and her friend Amanda becomes victims of kidnapping in Paris by Albanian Human Traffickers and he gets her back after killing many Albanian gangsters.

Then, the Albanians are after him and his family. Brian’s combative skills, explosive expert training and a proficient sniper equipped him as the elite specialist of survival skills in the world.

His particular set of skills did not end at combative training; they just begun there and went on to search and find the enemy and exist as a ghost when necessary. And, he used these skills to save his family.

                              TAKEN 2

Second in Taken 2 his daughter Kim and his ex-wife Lenore (Famke Janssen) who Bryan called Lenny--surprised Bryan in Istanbul.

Murad Krasniqi (Rade Serbedziji) the father of one of the dead Albanian gangsters who kidnapped Kim in Paris; kidnapped Bryan and Lenny.

He gets away again by killing the Murad and more of the kidnappers. Now, he has more enemies added to the list of haters out for revenge.

                                                                   TAKEN 3

In Taken 3 life is almost normal for Bryan for a while as he saw his daughter and his ex-wife often. He and Lenny became good friends after the ordeal in Istanbul. They visited and had drinks together; the three were almost as a family again.

On that terrible day Bryan went to visit Lenny and walked into a ghastly murder scene with her on the bed with blood everywhere. He’d been there a few minute when two cops came in and tried to arrest him.

Bryan knew one of the two people on this earth he loved was dead; and now he had to warn his daughter Kim.

Therefore, he could not let them arrest him for a crime he did not commit and leave his daughter flapping in the wind of unawareness. He escaped the two cops and warned his daughter not to trust anyone.

The killer told him soon everyone he loved would be dead. And, Bryan was hot on their trail to end this madness once and for all.

The Police Inspector Frank Dotzler (Forest Whitaker) was after Bryan determined to arrest him. He told Bryan if he went after the killers the FBI, the LAPD and the CIA would be after him and they would find him. Bryan said “Good Luck.”

The Prince with Bruce Willis, John Cusack & Jason Patric

The Prince

Omar Kaiser (Bruce Willis) lived with memories and the dream of one day revenging the murder of his wife.

She had been his world---the person he loved the most--- on this earth. And his worst enemy Paul aka The Prince (Jason Patric) was the one he blamed for her death.

Its been years since he had given up his career as a crime boss because he probably did not have the heart for it after he lost his wife.

But he had never given up the vision of avenging her death. He knew his precious wife would want him to forgive, but he couldn’t---only God forgives.

After keeping a low-profile for many years Paul surfaced. And when he did Omar knew immediately and was ready for his revenge.

Paul had retired from the life of crime as a Las Vegas crime boss. He lived quietly as a single parent who spent his time raising his daughter.

When Omar became aware Paul had a daughter---he knew how to get his revenge. Omar kidnapped his daughter Beth (Gia Mantegna) who knew nothing about her father past life of crime.

Omar had kidnapped an innocent girl---only a vengeful evil person could do this wicked deed.

Paul teamed up with his best friend Sam (John Cusack) then he returned to the world of crime to get support to rescue his daughter. He knew killing Omar should be his duty and his alone. The race began when two old rivals begin to fight with no holds barred---the smart ones cleared the way and ran for cover.

This movie “The Prince” will open on August 22, 2014 and all Bruce Willis fans will be waiting for a front row seat. I know I shall because I love all his action movies---he is the “King of Action.”

The Italian Job---Charlize Theron, Mark Wahlberg, Edward Norton and Donald Sutherland (2003)

This is a film about a great Italian heist which takes place in Venice, Italy by a team of proficient thieves led by John Bridger (Donald Sutherland) who is a specialist safecracker and Charlie Croker (Mark Wahlberg) who is John’s protégé and also a professional thief.

Charlie has been with John for many years; they enjoyed a great relationship---like a father and son.

John’s daughter Stella Bridger (Charlie Theron)lives in Philadelphia with a career as a vault technician and has begged her father many times to stop practicing his profession; but to no avail---there is always one more job.

All six team members are assembled in Venice to complete their last job of stealing 35 million in gold bars from Italian gangsters that stole the gold bar themselves. The other members of the team are Steve (Edward Norton), the inside man,

Handsome Rob (Jason Statham) their wheelman, Lyle aka Napster (Seth Green) a computer genius and Left Ear (Mos Def) their explosive expert. The Italian job as they called it would be their last job, and everyone was already dreaming about what to do with their share.

With computerized planning, proficient timing, brilliant research and a skilled team with adaptability at a minute’s notice; the job finished on schedule.

Later Rob drove the team and the gold to the Alps close to the Austrian border where they stop to celebrate with wine; and John gave a toast praising Charlie and his excellent planning of their last job together.

Everyone agreed with the words spoken by John; however, Steve had a funny look on his face. One might even conclude it was jealousy.

John and Charlie walked away from the team to talk in private. The rest of the team shared their plans of what they would do with their share of the money.

The team traveled on the icy bridge to the Austrian border when suddenly a jeep came facing them---then it stopped on the bridge and the jeep behind them stopped. Before anyone could think what was happening Steve pulled a gun and pointed it to Rob’s head and told him to take his hands off the wheel. Then, John told Steve they would find him---Steve shot John three times in the chest, without blinking once.

Charlie told Rob to drive and he did hitting the Jeep in front of them, then going over the railings into the freezing water. When Steve is satisfied everyone is dead---he leaves with his team of killers. John is dead and Charlie hates to leave him.

After telling John’s daughter about her father's death the team started to research and track Steve, because it is payback time. Revenge is motivated by hating and the retribution race is on for the team to find Steve.

Charlie paid a visit to Stella to let her know they found Steve in Los Angeles and an informant said he sold a couple of gold bars to a dealer. He told Stella the team would be in LA after Steve, and asked if she wanted to help them. Charlie said he needed her skill on safecracking. He told her it was not about the money that John was like a father to him too.

Stella initially said no, but changed her mind and called Charlie to tell him she was in. She wanted to see Steve’s face when he was caught; and lost his precious gold.

They arrived in Los Angeles and began to work their plan against Steve. Steve would have other issues in the end bigger than the team’s punishment; because Steve killed Yevhen (Boris Lee Krutonog) the dealer that purchased the gold bars from him. Mashkov (Olek Krupa), Yechen’s cousin would revenge his death.

Taken 2---Liam Neeson, Famke Janssen and Maggie Grace

Bryan Mills (Liam Neeson) is still a retired CIA operative who recently rescued his daughter Kim (Maggie Grace) from a gang of Albanian Human Traffickers. In the process of saving his daughter he killed eight of the gang. And, the leader of the Albanian Gang---Murad Krasniqi (Rade Serbedzija) is out for revenge for the death of his son. He has two sons left and he means to keep them, so they remained behind as he the leader travels to Istanbul to carry out his vendetta against Bryan Mills.

As we learned before in Taken that Bryan Mills retired to live near his daughter in California, so this is where he now spends a lot of his time minus various jobs he takes in security all over the world. He still has his best friend Sam (Leland Orser) who he depends on in any emergency.

His ex-wife Lenore (Famke Janssen) who he calls Lenny---is separated from her second husband who turned out---not-so-nice, because he cancelled a trip they planned together as a family to try and mend all the tears in their marriage. So, when Bryan stops to pick-up his daughter Kim for a driving lesson he finds all this out, therefore, being a good person invites them to join him in Istanbul after his job is over and they surprised him by showing up.

This is when their lives become filled with action and the wrong kind of adventure in the nest of heartless criminals---while frantically trying to stay alive. Bryan’s skills and his daughter’s bravery helped to keep them alive. But Murad Krasniqi is out for blood and he wants the family captured so he can take them to his son's burial site and kill them all.

So if you haven’t seen this movie---I say buy it like I did ---so I can see it over and over with my friends and family. Good movie, and these actors and actresses are great together making the movie come alive. You will  feel every emotion, the extreme pain, the anguish felt while Bryan tried to free himself and his ex-wife. Don’t miss this one if you like action.

Dominic Purcell and Erin Karpluk in---Assault on Wall Street

What happens when Jeremy Stancroft  ( John Heard) tells his traders on Wall Street to dump 12 Billion Dollars of certificates that hard working Americans invested in? If you were not hit by Wall Street‘s greed in real life---then you are among the lucky few.

When one invests their hard earned money with a stock broker they trust and are not notified in time to move that investment to another stock---then you lose everything.  And this has happened in real time to many Americans.

However, this movie might make you feel a little better about someone taking on the “Big Boys of Wall Street.” It has plenty of action, drama, and pay back scenes.

The movie is about a hardworking New Yorker Jim Baxford (Dominic Purcell) who invested his savings in certificates for his family. When Wall Street decides to play God and dump the certificates without notice---then people like Jim are devastated.

Jim finds out when the banks calls his wife Rosie Baxford (Erin Karpluk) and he tells her everything will be fine. Now at this point Jim thinks it will be fine.

But when he talks to everyone involved he finds out his money is gone and he will not receive a penny of his investment. So he decides to get even with the ones who cooked the pot to get their big bonuses.

Now we all know it is not legal to start shooting people---but this is just a movie---fiction---not real.

So pop your Popcorn and drizzle it with chocolate and you will be ready to watch this review and the DVD of the movie Assault on Wall Street will be out August 13th, 2013.

Reserve your copy of ---Assault on Wall Street on DVD online and---save gas. I am because I try to be a fugal savvy shopper.

Dead Man Down Starring Colin Farrell, Noomi Repace and Terrence Howard

Everything in Victor’s (Colin Farrel) life was going great. His job as an enforcer to a New York City crime boss Alphonse Hoyt (Terrance Howard) paid well.

Victor is a family man with a wife and a daughter and life was as normal as life can be in his business---he could take care of his family and give them a better life than most families--- during these troubled times.

Until Beatrice (Noomi Rapace) witnessed a murder and Victor was the one who did it. He did not know someone was recording his criminal act. But Beatrice was and for her own benefit.

She stalked Victor until she found out what she needed to know. Then and only then did she plan what she would do next. And that was to meet him in a public location where she would be safe when she told him.

Beatrice met Victor and told him she saw what he did and then showed him the video. Victor wondered in those short second what did this woman want---experience told him---it would not be good---when he found out.

She told him that his boss Alphonse Hoyt was the one responsible for the scars on her face and she wanted Victor to kill him---she was after revenge.

This is where the action begins--- but does not ever seem to end---ever. It only gets worse as Alfonse learns it is Victors who is trying to kill him. Then he kills the ones Victor loved the most---his family.

Then the Gates of Hell opened with flames and smoke---- revenge rode a horse of fire leading the  Devil's posse--- as Victor now is after his own retaliation---this city has never seen the likes of what this man will do for payback. Will Alphonse pay with his life? Will Victor be killed before he get revenge for his family?
What will Beatrice be doing when all the rages of Hell happened? Will the movie end with our cheers? We will have to wait and see when it comes out in March 8, 2013.

Tom Selleck & Laura San Giacomo in---Quigley Down Under (1990)

Around 1876 a wealthy Australian cattle baron by the name of Elliott Marston(Alan Rickman) advertised for the best long distance sharpshooter in the World to travel to the rough and remote Australia countryside to kill dingoes for him. And he was paying a large amount for this service.

When Matthew Quigley(Tom Selleck) read this ad in Montana, USA, he answered the ad stating that he could hit a target at 900 yards. Elliott Marston sent word for him to come to Australia.

When the ship docks we catch a glimpse of Matthew Quigley’s temper as a rough overbearing passenger tries to depart the ship by butting in front of an old couple.

Matthew stops him with butt of his gun in his Netherlands region. Matthew smiled at the couple as they proceed down the ramp telling them the gentleman was not in a hurry.

No sooner has Matthew’s feet hit the wooden dock carrying his saddle and his gun; that he gets in-boiled in Crazy Cora’s(Laura San Giacomo) fight. She started calling him Roy as soon as she saw him telling one and all he is her husband.

Matthew tells her is not Roy, as he rescues her from the men who were trying to put her on their wagon.

After Matthew beats the guys up; they find out that Quigley is the one their Boss sent them bring back to the cattle ranch. Looking at Matthew’s facial expression one can almost hear him say, Oh no---I am going to ride this wagon with her—Crazy Cora.
Now the adventure begins with Cora and Matthew and if you buy or rent this movie you will not regret it, because it is a great movie with great Australia countryside.

Ashley Judd and Tommy Lee Johnson in---Double Jeopardy (1999)

A great movie with Tommy Lee Jones, and Ashley Judd, that is full of action-packed scenes that would keep even the critics glued to the screen. It all takes place in the Wealthy neighborhood of Whidbey Island with Ashley as Elizabeth (Libby) Parsons, and Bruce Greenwood as Nick Parson, her husband.

Because of being in debt Nick parson has a plan what will send his wife to prison and leave him free to do as he wishes. And his wish is to have Annabeth Gish as Ashley Green to look after Libby and Nick’s four-year-old son Matty, while he wheels and deals making himself rich. All the while Libby is serving time in prison for something she did not do.

Libby made friends while incarcerated, and one of them was an attorney before she was disbarred and sent to prison for killing her husband; however, she told Libby when she got out, she could walk up to Nick in Time Square and shoot him; and not be arrested because you cannot be convicted twice for a crime—and it was called Double Jeopardy, a clause in the Fifth Amendment.

Finally, Libby is out on parole after seven years, and she starts looking for Matty, while trying to follow all the rules of Tommy Lee Jones as Parole Office Travis Lehman.

But she is strong willed and determined and takes Office Travis Lehman for a ride of his life.
Libby was left alone in the car with her wrist in handcuffs--that did not stop her from trying to escape. She would die trying to see Matty.

Finally, she was face to face with the liar. Sweat broke out on Nick's forehead because he knew Hell was coming--and now it was standing in front of him in a beautiful expensive dress.

Nick thought Libby was no more since he thought he killed her and she would not be found for a very long time. He could continue his rich-guy-womanizing while he strutted around like a bit shot.

Nick got the upper hand after he shot Travis in the arm and then tried to kill Libby again for the second time. Travis rushed Nick---giving Libby time to get her gun and finally she shot Nick twice. At last the evil-liar was dead.

Travis and Libby drove to Matty's school and surprised him. Matty told his mother--They told me you were dead. Then mother and son hugged and held each other in a loving way. Travis watched and smile from his car--he felt that justice was now delivered in the love of the two he was watching.
This is a very good movie—I have watched my old video so many times—and I am planning to watch it more.
