Serena with Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper (26 February 2015) USA

When George Pemberton (Bradley Cooper) married Serena Shaw (Jennifer Lawrence) life with such a beautiful woman became unbelievable. They met and married in 1929. They were madly in love; Serena could hardly breathe without George and he felt the same.

Serena became George’s partner in business as well as his wife. Their first meeting was accidental as Serena rode her horse through the beautiful woods in Boston, when George rode up behind her and stopped her to talk. Or, was it all part of a plan?

Strong in their beliefs of success they proceeded with producing a Timber Empire in the beginning of the Great Depression in 1930. Their honeymoon attitude still shined for George and Serena. They traveled to North Carolina to the timber camp; it was her first time there to see all the men who worked hard for a few dollars. However, a few dollars was not what she would settle for in her lifetime.

Being in the North Carolina Mountain wilderness was new to Serena, but then no one seem to know the real person of strength, determination, and jealousy who would do anything to get what she wanted.

George lived in the timber camp before, long enough to become involved with another woman Rachel Harmon (Ana Ularu), before he had met and married Serena. Their illicit relationship endured because Rachael had his illegitimate son.

Serena showed George her true side of being a partner, she worked more efficient and produced more than any man they employed to manage the crew; some husbands might frown on this; but not George.

When Serena could not produce a child for George, she became obsessed because nothing she ever wanted before became beyond her grasp.

Now, the real sick Serena started to come out; mean, destructive and eliminating anyone who stood in her way.

And, would George be able to live with Serena now? Or would she decide to rid herself of George. Or, is it true that some loves can never let you go?

I cannot wait to see this movie as I know it will be great beyond my anticipation; by showing us the ones who lived through the Great Depression and what some did to survive.

Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham & Jet Li in---Expendables 3

Barney Ross (Sylvester Stallone) is back again with his incredible  team in Expendables 3, the world’s greatest mercenaries will face one of their deadliest nemesis--- Conrad Stonebanks (Mel Gibson) who Barney thought he killed years ago. Revenge has reared its ugly head and means to extinguish The Expendables.

Conrad and Barney established “The Expendables” together years ago. However, Conrad chose the wrong path when became involved in dealing as a weapons trader. Barney had to eliminate him; however Conrad lived; and now has an agenda, which includes killing Barney and all the team.

Barney’s original team is still with him, and they are: Lee Christmas (Jason Statham), Yin Yang (Jet Li), Gunnar Jensen ( Dolph Lundgren), Hale Caesar ( Terry Crews), Toll Road (Randy Couture) and an old friend of Barney’s  Trench (Arnold Schwarzenegger) drops in to help Barney and the team.

After Barney and his team came in contact with the alive and vengeful Conrad---Barney knew he had to add younger, quicker men with more Hi-Tech knowledge; than the original team. So, the team with years of experience plus the younger savvy team equal the zenith of all teams--- they were ready to rid the world of Conrad Stonebanks.

The younger savvy team: Surgeon (Wesley Snipes), Rapido (Antonio Banderas), Smilee (Kellan Lutz), Luna (Ronda Rousey), Thorn (Glen Powell), Mars (Victor Ortiz) with Bonaparte (Kelsey Grammar), and Max Drummer (Harrison Ford).

This is a magical team and I cannot wait to see the movie “The Expendables 3,” which will premiere August 15, 2014, on Friday---mark your calendars for supreme action, adventure and thrills in this movie----this is over the top with shooting stars.

Appaloosa---Ed Harris, Viggo Mortensen & Renee Zellweger (2008)

It is 1882 in New Mexico where the badlands of the territory seem to breed hired killers, and gangs of robbers including those who murdered without remorse.

New Mexico did not become a state until 30 years later in 1912, until then a lot of good men died trying to bring justice to the people of the region.

It was a time when wearing a badge for any lawman did not guarantee respect; only a bigger target for killers.

The Marshal of Appaloosa Jack Bell (Robert Jauregui) and his two deputies rode out to RB Ranch to arrest two men who had killed a man and his wife in cold-blood.

However, the owner of the ranch Randall Bragg (Jeremy Irons) told the Marshal he was out of his jurisdiction, and that he could not spare the men.

The Marshal told one of the deputies to cut the two men out of the group and when he rode a few feet, Randall Bragg shot him, the marshal and the other deputy.

When the Marshal and his deputies did not return to town; the town council hired Virgil Cole (Ed Harris) and Everett Hitch (Viggo Mortensen) who are traveling experience lawmen. Cole and Hitch are hired by frantic towns as marshal and deputy to bring law and order by implementing new laws for the towns, and if that did not work; their guns spoke for them.

Anyone who rides into town and does not abide by the laws, they are arrested; however if they resist by firing their weapons; they are killed. This is what happened to three of Bragg’s men.

To add spice to the town a widow Mrs. Allison French (Renee Zellweger) arrived in Appaloosa and caught the attention of Cole.

Hitch also liked Allison, but she was interested in Cole. Cole helped her get employment as a piano player; and in no time they were buying a house that was being built.

This is where Appaloosa begins to get complicated in the romance and enforcing the law areas. Will Cole and Allison become a married couple?

Maybe Allison had a secret agenda? Does she really care for Cole? Will Hitch stay in Appaloosa and give up his wandering ways? Will Appaloosa become a respectable town? And, will Cole and Hitch still be a team?
I enjoyed my DVD of Appaloosa; and I am sure it will be watched over and over again. One can always see something new when watching a movie more than once.

Happy viewing and I hope you enjoyed visiting my movie blog. Thanks.

The Peacemaker with George Clooney & Nicole Kidman (1997)

Two trains collided in Russia,

and one carried a nuclear payload. Then the world is put on alert because a nuclear explosion occurred after the crash.

Dr. Kelley does not think this is an accident and she is telling a secured group about the accident, when in walks Lt. Col. Thomas, who is a Special Forces, trained, skilled and take no prisoner's attitude.

Sparks fly when George Clooney who plays Lt. Col. Thomas Devoe is paired with Nicole Kidman who plays Dr. Julia Kelley, a brilliant U.S. nuclear specialist to stop a nuclear terrorist and recover the bombs.

This is a action packed movie, and the chemistry flies all over the place when Dr. Julia Kelly and Lt. Col. Thomas are together. She might be thinking how his hard body would feel pressed tightly against her soft tone one.

Would he react in the normal male way or would be hold back for a firmer commitment--more than lust--that would break the chemistry barrier. She would have to wait for his first move.

He could be think that she might be worth an engagement of some kind--maybe long enough for him to know if he really feels love this time or not.

This film was made in 1997 and the filming locations were:
Jacob Javits Convention Center, 11th Avenue & 34th Street, Manhattan, New York City, New York, USA, Los Angeles, California, USA, Macedonia, New York City, New York, USA, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA, Poland, Russia, Slovakia, The Peninsula New York Hotel, 700 5th Avenue at 55th Street, Manhattan, New York City, New York, USA United Nations - First Avenue at 46th Street, Manhattan, New York City, New York, USA Vienna, Austria
