Dr. Martin Harris (Liam Neeson) a biochemist with his
wife Elizabeth Harris (January Jones) traveled to Berlin
for a conference to hear about the discovery in research by Professor Leo Bressler
(Sebastian Koch). Prince Shada (Mido Hamada) from Arabia funded the
research so he would be there as an honored guest.
When they
arrive at the hotel Dr. Harris discovers he left his brief case at the airport,
so he hops into another taxi and is on his way to retrieve it. While his wife
checks on their reservations.
Suddenly, Dr. Harris’ taxi is in an accident and the taxi goes over the bridge into the icy water below. The taxi driver Gina (Diane Kruger) pulls the unconscious Martin Harris out of the car and swam with him to the shore. Then the Taxi driver Gina hurried away before the police arrived. She had something to hide, evidently.

Martin
Harris remained in a coma four days and woke up in the hospital on the fourth
day. He could not remember what happened and without identification could not
even prove he was Dr. Martin Harris.
He’s understandably confused, but remembers being married and dread fills his mind that his wife cannot find him. His memory loss caused him and his doctor much concern.

In a burst
of energy he leaves the hospital without the doctor’s consent. He is off to
find his wife and when he locates her, she denies knowing him. Confused but
adamant that he is her husband and does not understand what is happening.
Then a man steps up with identification and says he is Dr. Martin Harris. (He’s not the only one confused now, and lost in a maze of denials and chaotic web of deceit, I am with him.)

Finally, the
hotel puts him in a cab to take him back to the hospital, but he gets out and
goes back to the hotel in time to see his wife having dinner with the other man
who claims he is Dr. Martin Harris. They are very lovable to each other, which
is more baffling.
He noticed a
black van was following him, and ignores it as he stays on track to prove who he
is. He goes to Professor Bressler and finds the imposture already there. When
the fake Dr. Martin Harris shows his I.D. to prove he’s the real one, there is
a photo of his wife sitting on the lap of the impersonator.
Then he fainted and
wakes up in the hospital again with the same man who followed him once before.
Who is now trying to kill him, but a nurse comes in the room and confronts him
about being with her patient. Then the assassin breaks her neck, and goes into
another room to hide another body. Martin manages to get her scissors and cut
his restrains and gets away.
He Didn't Forget Everything or Maybe He Did Not Remember it Correctly
He Didn't Forget Everything or Maybe He Did Not Remember it Correctly
Why are
these assassins after him? He cannot imagine anything since he has gaps in him
memory still.
