Taken 3 with Liam Neeson, Maggie Grace and Forrest Whitaker-(January 9th 2015)

Bryan Mills (Liam Neeson) tried to live a normal life-like anyone else, but his enemies keep coming after him and his family.

He retired from the CIA as one of the best operative in the agency; so he could be near his daughter Kim (Maggie Grace) in California.

Kim lived with her mother and her step-father. Kim persuaded her father to let her go to Paris when she was 17 years old; with her friend Amanda (Katie Cassidy).

He gave in telling her she had to call him as soon as she got there. And, she promised she would.

                       TAKEN

First, in Taken his daughter and her friend Amanda becomes victims of kidnapping in Paris by Albanian Human Traffickers and he gets her back after killing many Albanian gangsters.

Then, the Albanians are after him and his family. Brian’s combative skills, explosive expert training and a proficient sniper equipped him as the elite specialist of survival skills in the world.

His particular set of skills did not end at combative training; they just begun there and went on to search and find the enemy and exist as a ghost when necessary. And, he used these skills to save his family.

                              TAKEN 2

Second in Taken 2 his daughter Kim and his ex-wife Lenore (Famke Janssen) who Bryan called Lenny--surprised Bryan in Istanbul.

Murad Krasniqi (Rade Serbedziji) the father of one of the dead Albanian gangsters who kidnapped Kim in Paris; kidnapped Bryan and Lenny.

He gets away again by killing the Murad and more of the kidnappers. Now, he has more enemies added to the list of haters out for revenge.

                                                                   TAKEN 3

In Taken 3 life is almost normal for Bryan for a while as he saw his daughter and his ex-wife often. He and Lenny became good friends after the ordeal in Istanbul. They visited and had drinks together; the three were almost as a family again.

On that terrible day Bryan went to visit Lenny and walked into a ghastly murder scene with her on the bed with blood everywhere. He’d been there a few minute when two cops came in and tried to arrest him.

Bryan knew one of the two people on this earth he loved was dead; and now he had to warn his daughter Kim.

Therefore, he could not let them arrest him for a crime he did not commit and leave his daughter flapping in the wind of unawareness. He escaped the two cops and warned his daughter not to trust anyone.

The killer told him soon everyone he loved would be dead. And, Bryan was hot on their trail to end this madness once and for all.

The Police Inspector Frank Dotzler (Forest Whitaker) was after Bryan determined to arrest him. He told Bryan if he went after the killers the FBI, the LAPD and the CIA would be after him and they would find him. Bryan said “Good Luck.”

Nowhere to Run with Jean-Claude Van Damme & Rosanna Arquette

Sam Gillen (Jean-Claude Van Damme) a citizen of Canada was capture by Federal Officers of the United States for a bank heist.

Sam’s partner Billy (Anthony Starke) in the robbery killed a security guard, but Sam was caught for the crime and he's now on his way to a Federal Prison with a bus load of criminals.

Sam did not turned Billy in because he was accepting the responsible for his part in the crime.

However, Billy would not let Sam down---determined to help his friend who took the rap for him---he stopped the prison bus by making it over-turn and helped Sam to escape.

Sam drove away fast---but not fast enough to save Billy; who was shot in the neck by a prison guard as they sped down the highway from them.

Sam kept going and listened to Billy tell him about the suitcase he had for him. Sam’s friend Billy died as he made his run for life in Billy’s fast car. When Sam felt he was far enough away he stopped and buried his friend Billy as the sunset in the evening darkness.

He found the suitcase Billy had left him in the trunk and changed into a suit, and took some of the money left for him; then went shopping for food.

Sam did not know where he was going at the moment he just knew he needed to find a place to hide for a while.

So he put up a tent in a wooded area by a large pond thinking no one would find him and then he fell asleep from exhaustion; as his journey furnished plenty of excitement the last two days.

He woke up later to darkness, and thinking about his supply of groceries-- he forgot to buy salt---so he started to look around to see maybe a little store might be near. He took his flashlight to explore his surroundings and he carefully made his way through the woods.
What Sam found was a farm that belonged to Clydie Anderson (Rosanna Arquette) who was a widow with two children Mike ‘Mookie’ Anderson (Kieran Culkin) and Bree Anderson (Tiffany Taubman).

He watched Clydie take the children upstairs to bed. Then she came back down to take a shower.

Sam knew he should not watch her undress and get in the shower---but he could not help himself. Then while she took her shower Sam broke in the house to borrow salt.

The old farm house had squeaky floor boards that alerted Mookie and he get up. Sam grabs the salt shaker before he quickly left the farm house and returned to his tent.

Sam in the end becane a hero to the family as he tried to help save their farm from an unscrupulous property developer Franklin Hale ( Joss Ackland) who had the local dishonest Sheriff Lonnie Cole (Edward Blatchford) secretly working for him and his henchman Mr. Dunston (Ted Levine) all trying to persuade Clydie to sell her farm.

If she does not sell to him--- then Franklin Hale’s business will fold because her property is the last one. He manipulated other property owners by any means he could use to get their property.

Now, he will use his strong tactics with the help of Lonnie and his other men to convenience her to sell. Which makes Lonnie the worse one of all because he is suppose to care for Clydie.

And this is when Sam steps in and levels the playing field. And the action begins as he tries to right the wrongs done to Clydie and her family.

Jean-Claude Van Damme is one of my favorite action actors---he soars high with his millions of fans and I am one. And, he will be in Expendables 3 and that makes me very happy.

Mark Wahlberg in Shooter (2007)

Bob Lee Swagger (Mark Wahlberg) and best friend and spotter Donnie Fenn (Lane Garrison) were on a clandestine Ethiopian mission. Bob earned the title as one of the few supreme marksmen on earth and that is why he was high on a mountain overlooking the road. To protect their military convoy as they drove to their destination.

They were in constant contact with the command post and the top ranking officer in charge. When a surprise group of well-armed Ethiopians came in behind the American military convoy a battle began with Bob and Donnie doing a great job of eliminating the enemy.

Until an enemy helicopter surprised them---to take them out--- they called the command post for help. The top ranking office had closed the command post down as the fighting escalated. The officer in-charge did not want to get caught being in a foreign country without the knowledge of his superiors so he pulled the mission and left Bob and Donnie to fight and get home the best way they could.

And, that is when bullets ripped through Donnie from the helicopter and Bob shot it down. But that did not bring his friend Donnie back; and after he made it home he retired from the military.

That happened three years before and now Bob lived alone in the Rockies with his dog Sam. Bob enjoyed the quiet beauty of his winter wonderland and the peacefulness. He made a few close friends who helped each other out on occasion.

Suddenly, his quietness deteriorated as a black SUV drove down his road, with Colonel Isaac Johnson (Danny Glover) with two of his men, Jack Payne (Elias Koteas) and Louis Dobbler (Jonathan Walker) who came to see Bob on a mission.

Bob avoided any government connection and his dog Sam did not like them either, especially the man name Jack, when Sam growled for them to stop walking near the house, he put his hand on his gun. Bob stepped out and told him to stop with his hand on his knife.

Colonel Johnson called his man off and he and Bob went in the cabin to talk. Long story short he wanted Bob to scout out three different cities the president would be visiting and advised them which city would it be possible for a sniper to take a long-range shot.

The Colonel and his men left without Bob’s answer---he thought about it and then called a friend to stop by and feed Sam for him a couple of days, and then he started on his trip.

Bob found two unlikely sources who helped him and they became friends one was Sarah Fenn (Kate Mara) Donnie’s widow and Nick Memphis (Michael Pena) a FBI agent. They believed in his innocence and helped him until the end.

This movie's exploded with action, mystery, revenge, betrayal, murder; however, some good came out of all the pandemonium. Anyone who missed it at the theater can buy the DVD like I did, and then watch it anytime you want an action movie night alone or with friends.
