Danny’s father Shawn is a mob boss who wants revenge for his
son’s death. This situation became complicated because of Jimmy and Shawn’s
years of loyalty between them. However, family comes first in a prudent man’s
life. Even mobsters love their families.
What can a father do? What any father who is worth a grain of
salt would do---protect his son and his son’s family. Jimmy knew Shawn would
come after
his son because he killed Danny to save his son. Shawn may find revenge is
sometimes bitter-sweet.
Will a father stand by his son and protect him from his best
friend Shawn
Maguire (Ed Harris) he has known for years? This could be the question
Jimmy Conlon (Liam Neeson) thought about in reference to his alienated son Mike
Conlon (Joel Kinnaman) who now needs his help.
Jimmy’s life of being a gangster and a hired killer evidently
came between him and Mike. Mike’s family comes first in his life, and now they
were in jeopardy because his father killed Danny Maguire (Boyd Holbrook).
A father’s love knows no boundaries when it comes to his
children.
What happens when
a fire-breathing dragon is attacked? It makes ashes of its enemies; and
all the fires of Hell cannot compete with the retribution coming their way.
John Wick (Keanu
Reeves) retired from his profession as a hired assassin to enjoy a
normal life with his wife (Bridget Moynahan) until she became
terminally ill. John's heart ache became unbearable; his precious wife would soon
be gone. His wife gave him a beagle puppy before she died because she wanted
him to take care of something living. He would think about the puppy, play with
the puppy and not be sad after she was gone.
When she died his
world spun out of control, only the sweet little gift of love his wife gave
him; a puppy saved him. John had something he had to feed and take care of
during the night and day. He worked on his 1969 Ford Mustang, a super-fast
power car and he never went anywhere without his puppy. He enjoyed his fast car
and puppy, but he stayed close to home where he still grieved for his dead
wife, but the puppy helped his bruised heart as time passed.
John Wick's Paybacks are Final
One day while
John was filling his gas tank at the station; two guys inquired about buying
his car. John told them it was not for sale. Later the two guys broke into John’s
home beat him senseless, killed his puppy and stole his car.
That was the biggest
mistake of their criminal lives because John went after them for killing the
puppy and stealing his car. And, many would pay for this unthinkable evil act
against a man and his pet.
New York City
would witness the revenge of a man who feared no living being and will kill the
killers who killed a helpless puppy; they took everything from him.
John’s payback
became complicated because one of the goons Losef Tarasov (Alfie Allen) was the son of
Viggo Tarasov (Michael Nyqvist) a New York City Crime Boss.
Viggo warned his
son: It is who you did this to not what you did. And, of course the son Losef
with his gangster I.Q. stated he was not afraid of John Wick. Little did he
know of what was coming his way; a retribution that would make him want to
crawl into Hell with Satan opening the door for him. John Wick did not show mercy
or forgiveness; he let his gun speak for him.
(Willem Dafoe)
received a contract on John from Viggo Tarasov. And, Marcus’orders are to use
everyone to go after John Wick.
This is a movie I
want to see because I love action movies and I will be in line on October 24th
for my ticket---if God is willing and the creek don’t rise---I’ll be there to
see one of my favorite actors Keanu Reeves.
James Reese
(Jonathan
Rhys Meyers) is an ambitious young aide to the United States Ambassador
Bennington (Richard Durden) in France. James floats in a calm sea of dullness serving
him. However, James would rather be on an assignment with the job of his passion;
as a low rank secret agent for the CIA.
James is
hoping to get an assignment in the CIA of a higher-level so he can prove his
worth to the agency. And, just when he is enjoying being with his
girlfriend---he gets a call from the CIA telling him to pick up his partner
Charlie Wax (John Travolta) because he is being detained by French Customers at the
airport. Because Charlie does not want to turn over his cans of his favored energy
drink to them.
This was
James’ first test of the assignment and after Charlie Wax called the French
Airport Security Agents everything in the book and then some, he stood defiant against them, Yes, James was shocked by Charlie's loud mouth with foul words being spit out at anyone or anything that got in
this big bad CIA agents’ way. James slapped a Diplomatic Mail sticker on the
bag of energy drinks. This solved the issue since the drinks were now protected
from Customs.
James’ CIA
handler advised him to do what Charlie Wax told him because he was on a very important
assignment. Which James found out later it involved terrorist that were
responsible for the death of the niece of Secretary of Defense.
Charlie Wax
takes James on an action adventure of his assignment and one might describe it
as a high-level CIA tutorial where killing and bombing is a big part of the lesson.
This will be the beginning of James’ hard lesson on the facts of life as a CIA
Operative. Will James make it to the end? Will Charlie Wax and James become friends and contacts to help each other with any future assignments they will be given?
Only after seeing
the entire movie will one be able to answer all the questions one might want answers to; so buckle up this will be a ride to remember.
John Wharton a.k.a. ‘Breacher’ (Arnold Schwarzenegger) is
the Boss/Commander of a DEA task force known as the elite members. And, each selected
because their training and skills made them the best. And their working
together made them a family. They never questioned any assignment instructions
from Breacher, as he was their leader and was always front and center of the
group when the action began.
This elite group protected each other against many enemies; just
wearing DEA on their vests made them targets for terrorists and drug cartels. Each
reigned proficient in firearms, marksmanship, weapons safety and strategic shooting
including deadly force decision training.
Breacher’s
team members are Lizzy (Mireille Enos), Grinder (Joe Mananiello), Pyro (Max
Martini),
Monster(Sam
Worthington),Sugar (Terrence Howard) and Neck(Josh Holloway). Everyone displayed
greatrespect towards Breacher and really he earned it.
The mission that began all their troubles
happened when Breacher as the leader sieges a drug cartel’s safe house; arrested a major cartel leader and confiscation of millions of dollars.
Everything is great as the team celebrated their victory.
Then
Breacher’s questioned about 10 million dollars missing from the millions in the
drug bust. When questioned Breacher said he did not take it. But did the squad
take the money and hide it? Does Breacher really not know about the money? Or,
was it his plan all the time to take the millions and safely hide it?
Suddenly, an
unknown assassin begins killing the team members one by one. Has the drug
cartel sent a hit man to send a message to the DEA agents to leave their money alone?
Or could it be one of Breacher’s team members who is greedy and does not want
to share?
Then FBI
Investigator Caroline Brentwood (Olivia Williams) becomes involved after the
murder of two members of the squad. She wants to know why someone is killing DEA
agents under Breacher. Then it really gets dangerous for Breacher as the leader
of the squad; because the Cartel kidnapped his family. This is when it all hits
the fan, as nothing will stop him from getting his family back.
It appears another door of Hell has opened---as he shoots his way into the heart of the
Cartel, creating maim---they did not know the monster they created when they
took his family.
This movie
will be in theaters April 11, 2014 and I for one cannot wait. I love Arnold’s
movies and I am so happy he is back where he belongs---making movies.
James Bonomo (Sylvester Stallone) a New Orleans hitman’s
partner was killed by Keegan (Jason
Momoa) a skilled ex-mercenary. Keegan also killed a New York City Detective
Taylor Kwon (Sung Kang)’s partner.
So it only made sense for them to team up and go after the
bad guy. And Hell has not fury like James Bonomo when he is avenging the death
of a good friend and partner. He has no rules to play by but his own and he
reacts to the moment. However Detective Taylor Kwon does have rules to go by
and executes them in the beginning and as close to the law as possible.
But James takes out the trash and solves problems and this
is one issue that will be bloody and messy. No one will hide from this man who
is a sphere of fury rolling over the top of his enemies like a 5 ton ball of fiery
steel.
When he tells his daughter Lisa Bonomo (Sarah Shahi) about
his partner being killed she reminded him he promised her he would get out of
this business. With revenge on his mind he goes after his prey and does not
care who tries to stop him---he will not be deterred.
But when Keegan takes Lisa---James’ daughter to use as bait
to lure in James ---the fireworks begins--- and I am afraid the bad guy Keegan
has bitten off more than he can handle. James would walk over hot coals to get
to his daughter.
James does not trust anyone and he said that is how he stays
in the game of life over death. One could almost feel sorry for the bad guy
because I know he has met his match.
I cannot wait to get the DVD of this movie and I hope
everyone enjoys Sly in this one---he just keeps on getting better and better.
