Run All Night with Liam Neeson, Ed Harris, and Genesis Rodriguez and Joel Kinnaman

Danny’s father Shawn is a mob boss who wants revenge for his son’s death. This situation became complicated because of Jimmy and Shawn’s years of loyalty between them. However, family comes first in a prudent man’s life. Even mobsters love their families.

What can a father do? What any father who is worth a grain of salt would do---protect his son and his son’s family. Jimmy knew Shawn would come after his son because he killed Danny to save his son. Shawn may find revenge is sometimes bitter-sweet.

Will a father stand by his son and protect him from his best friend Shawn Maguire (Ed Harris) he has known for years? This could be the question Jimmy Conlon (Liam Neeson) thought about in reference to his alienated son Mike Conlon (Joel Kinnaman) who now needs his help.

Jimmy’s life of being a gangster and a hired killer evidently came between him and Mike. Mike’s family comes first in his life, and now they were in jeopardy because his father killed Danny Maguire (Boyd Holbrook).

A father’s love knows no boundaries when it comes to his children.

Cut Bank – Liam Hemsworth, Teresa Palmer and Billy Bob Thornton (2015)

Cut Bank Montana’s population is approximately 2,978 qualifying it for a small town where the Rockies meet the Plains. Growing-up in a small town has its good and not so good points. Dwayne McLaren (Liam Hemsworth) wants more than anything to move to a big city leaving the small town mentality flapping in the wind. He is making his living as an auto mechanic, not a fleet mechanic that pays well, but automobiles of the citizens of Cut Bank.

Dwayne is in love with his beautiful blond girlfriend Cassandra Steely (Teresa Palmer) and wants to take her with him to live in a city that never sleeps. And, that has been his dream since he graduated two years ago. However, it takes a lot of money for his dream to come true, so for now he just enjoys being with Cassandra.

Until one day his luck changed while making a video of his girlfriend in a field of flowers. Or, did he make his luck change? Anyway, while videotaping Cassandra someone walked across the field of flowers and shot the mailman in cold blood. Dwayne and Cassandra hid in the flowers, while he kept his camera running---he caught everything on video.

He showed the video of the murder to Sheriff Vogel (John Malkovich) and Big Stan Steely (Billy Bob Thornton) which showed the mail was taken. Maybe someone wanted something the mailman had on his mail truck. And, during the time of this occurrence a guy name Derby Milton (Michael Stuhlbarg) was looking for a package.

Dwayne’s luck is changing because he will get money for his video and everything is looking great. Until, Big Stan Steely tells him---he is on to him because he videotaped a moneymaking crime. And, then Joe Barrett (Oliver Pratt) tells the sheriff they need to see the body. So, where is the body?

This is going to be a good action, mystery thriller and that is how savvy small townspeople are---they see everything, hear everything and tell everything.

Prairie Fever with Kevin Sorbo, Lance Henriksen and Dominique Swain

Preston Biggs( Kevin Sorbo) a town sheriff intervening in a bank robbery shootout in the street as one outlaw held a woman in front of him as a shield; hoping to get away. The woman shouted ‘Shoot him, shoot him’ as the outlaw pushed her; the sheriff shot missing his target and killed the woman. The worst experience for the sheriff; the woman was his wife.

Two years later Preston Biggs is the town drunk because he blamed himself for his wife’s death. The sheriff gave him a job so he could earn money to pay for the property damages in the bar. He now had a get out of jail job.

The job was to take three women with prairie fever from their town who came there as mail-order brides. He would travel by wagon with the three women to Carson City to the nearest train.

The worst one was Lettie (Jillian Armenante) whose cell was next to Preston’s before their journey. She tried to kill Preston through the bars. She hated all men because of the abuse she received from her husband---and she had scars to prove it.

She tried to kill her husband---so she waited in jail until she boarded the wagon to Carson City. Lettie loved music and had her organ that she brought into the marriage with her. Her husband had threatened to destroy it and that is when Lettie tried to kill him.

The second traveler named Blue (Felicia Day) another mail-order bride who carried a Bible and quoted from it with her ‘Hell Fire and Damnations’ words spurred continuously talking.

Her husband told Preston at first she was a sweet loving wife---but no longer so he was sending her to an asylum with her family’s blessings. Her husband later found out the reason she acted so strangely.

The Third one was Abigail (Dominique Swain) who screamed the sky was too big and would fall on the ground and cover her head. Later her actions became clear.

This is a good western movie with a story I am sure happened many times with mail-order brides. Love also began on this journey to make the movie more romantic.

And, we learned about everyone traveling together---and to spice it up---a fourth woman whose named Olivia Thibodeaux (Jamie Ann Allman) joined them because she left her husband, Monte James (Lance Henriksen) who is a gambler and who is much older than Olivia.

Goodnight for Justice with Luke Perry, Lara Gilchrist and Ron Lea

Times were difficult for farmers in the 1800s in the Wyoming Territory because of the long droughts. No rain to germinate the seeds farmers planted---sometimes the last seeds planted without money left to buy more. I am sure the non-growing seeds the tired family man cursed many times before the farmer gave up his dirt farm, he could not even do dry farming without water to carry to his seed.

This is how John William Goodnight (Luke Perry) began his journey that gave him a new direction in his young life.

John walked with his parents William (Adrian Hough) and Ada Goodnight (Ingrid Tesch) into town without looking back at the unfruitful life they left.  When arriving at Dry Gulch they shared a covered wagon with Judge Aldous (Tom Butler) and Rebecca Shaw (Gabrielle Rose). The wagon was the only stage-coach the families had to travel in.

Judge Aldous Shaw and his wife enjoyed talking to John because he was bright and quick with his questions of the Judge. Everyone laughed and talked as the old covered wagon bumped and rattled its way over the crude roads.

Suddenly, bullets flew towards the stage-coach by the brother and his men who the Judge had hung that morning before leaving Dry Gulch. The driver shot in cold blood and the wagon overturned killing John’s mother and his father murdered protecting his son. The brother of the hung man---killed the judge by stabbing him---in the back.

John and Rebecca Shaw survived the slaughter and she took him in and; educated him and he became a lawyer.

This is where we find the hard-drinking, property damaging rebel rousing John Goodnight who seemed lacking in professional ambiance of a privilege few. John as a lawyer had never lost a case, but it did not seem to make his happy. So his adopted mother took measures into her own hands and had the Governor of Illinois swear John in as a Circuit Judge of Wyoming Territory.

John’s new life begins as a judge---Hell-bent on seeing---justice served. He did not care for lawyers because winning was utmost important with them; and many times justice was not served. John and Rebecca were still looking for justice in finding the ones who killed her husband his parents.

John would meet the most vial and cruel people in the Wyoming territory as well as good decent people. Even the law enforcers like the sheriff of some towns were crooks; so he had his hands full of staying alive and seeing justice served—one way or another.

He travelled on horseback through storms to arrive on time for his court sessions. Sometime, the wildlife of the night interrupted is sleep, but with his bottle of whiskey and a book to read---kept him warm and cozy through the night.

Blackhat with Chris Hemsworth, Viola Davis and Wei Tang

Nicholas Hathaway (Chris Hemsworth) a prisoner serving 15 years in prison for cyber hacking. He is a genius coder who became very popular with the FBI because they needed his expertise. They wanted him to find out who the hacker is and their location.

He told the FBI agent if they commuted his prison sentence he would help them locate the Blackhat (a term for an evil hacker.) Someone, who does his evil deed just because he can. He is demonic and does not care what mayhem or harm he does to others.

American and Chinese government agencies are collaborating to stop the evil Blackhat before he carried out his entire plot to destroy the world.

Nicholas and Chen Dawdi (Leehom Wang) were college roommates at M.I.T. and Chen knows Nicholas is a coding and programming genius. And, with knowledge and opportunity because he is a Chinese M.I.T. trained official of the military given the job of locating the Blackhat. He wanted the best person working with him and that is Nicholas Hathaway.

After the deal sealed Nicholas is working with a FBI agent (Viola Davis) and Chen Dawdi and his sister (Wei Tang) who is a systems engineer. Their journey will take them from Chicago to Hong Kong, from bright lights to dim back streets.

This search will proved dangerous because from typing on the keyboard to facing hired killers is a risky business.

Cyber Terrorist leave behind cyber finger prints because each hacker leaves something to identity them through their coding which will aid Nicholas in securing verification to prove their intrusion.

I cannot wait to see this movie with its intrigue, action, crime, drama and possible romance.
