Nowhere to Run with Jean-Claude Van Damme & Rosanna Arquette

Sam Gillen (Jean-Claude Van Damme) a citizen of Canada was capture by Federal Officers of the United States for a bank heist.

Sam’s partner Billy (Anthony Starke) in the robbery killed a security guard, but Sam was caught for the crime and he's now on his way to a Federal Prison with a bus load of criminals.

Sam did not turned Billy in because he was accepting the responsible for his part in the crime.

However, Billy would not let Sam down---determined to help his friend who took the rap for him---he stopped the prison bus by making it over-turn and helped Sam to escape.

Sam drove away fast---but not fast enough to save Billy; who was shot in the neck by a prison guard as they sped down the highway from them.

Sam kept going and listened to Billy tell him about the suitcase he had for him. Sam’s friend Billy died as he made his run for life in Billy’s fast car. When Sam felt he was far enough away he stopped and buried his friend Billy as the sunset in the evening darkness.

He found the suitcase Billy had left him in the trunk and changed into a suit, and took some of the money left for him; then went shopping for food.

Sam did not know where he was going at the moment he just knew he needed to find a place to hide for a while.

So he put up a tent in a wooded area by a large pond thinking no one would find him and then he fell asleep from exhaustion; as his journey furnished plenty of excitement the last two days.

He woke up later to darkness, and thinking about his supply of groceries-- he forgot to buy salt---so he started to look around to see maybe a little store might be near. He took his flashlight to explore his surroundings and he carefully made his way through the woods.
What Sam found was a farm that belonged to Clydie Anderson (Rosanna Arquette) who was a widow with two children Mike ‘Mookie’ Anderson (Kieran Culkin) and Bree Anderson (Tiffany Taubman).

He watched Clydie take the children upstairs to bed. Then she came back down to take a shower.

Sam knew he should not watch her undress and get in the shower---but he could not help himself. Then while she took her shower Sam broke in the house to borrow salt.

The old farm house had squeaky floor boards that alerted Mookie and he get up. Sam grabs the salt shaker before he quickly left the farm house and returned to his tent.

Sam in the end becane a hero to the family as he tried to help save their farm from an unscrupulous property developer Franklin Hale ( Joss Ackland) who had the local dishonest Sheriff Lonnie Cole (Edward Blatchford) secretly working for him and his henchman Mr. Dunston (Ted Levine) all trying to persuade Clydie to sell her farm.

If she does not sell to him--- then Franklin Hale’s business will fold because her property is the last one. He manipulated other property owners by any means he could use to get their property.

Now, he will use his strong tactics with the help of Lonnie and his other men to convenience her to sell. Which makes Lonnie the worse one of all because he is suppose to care for Clydie.

And this is when Sam steps in and levels the playing field. And the action begins as he tries to right the wrongs done to Clydie and her family.

Jean-Claude Van Damme is one of my favorite action actors---he soars high with his millions of fans and I am one. And, he will be in Expendables 3 and that makes me very happy.

Will Smith and Martin Lawrence in---Bad Boys II

Detective Mike Lowrey (Will Smith) and Detective Marcus Burnett (Martin Lawrence) are Narcotics cops in Miami. They work closely together as partners in their jobs and are good friends after work.

Their motto is we ride together---we die together—meaning they will do whatever it takes to get the job done.

They are in charge of the task force scrutinizing the flow of Ecstasy being trafficked into Miami, which comes in astronomical amounts into the United States by covert means.
Mike and Marcus as part of the TNT (Miami PD's Tactical Narcotics Team) assigned by Captain Howard (Joe Pantoliano) their boss to stop the inundation of Ecstasy on our shores.

And, the worst part of their assignment would be to track down a very dangerous criminal named Hector Juan Carlos “Johnny” Tapia (Jordi Molla) who is a Cuban drug lord with the ambition of controlling the entire ecstasy business in the United States.
The once very close relationship that Mike and Marcus claimed is now a little shaky, because they each are keeping a secret from the other.

Mike secret is one that involves deep feeling that he has for Sydney “Syd” Burnett (Gabrielle Union) is Marcus’ sister.

Now, we know why it is a secret. Syd has her own secret besides in the romance department---she is working undercover for the DEA, and is in deep cover with the notorious Johnny Tapia.
Marcus’ secret is he wants to spend more time with his family and a lot less time with Mike. And, this is the reason he put in for a transfer without talking to his partner Mike about it. Marcus is a little jealous of Mike’s popularity with everyone, especially women.

So personal feelings put aside as Mike and Marcus roared through Miami on the trail of Johnny Tapia. Will Miami survive the two of them as they race through the heavy traffic as they miraculously avoid death in hot pursuit of the criminals?
It is bad enough when Marcus finds out his sister is working undercover for the DEA, and even worse when Johnny Tapia kidnapped her.

Mike and Marcus put their pettiest aside to save Syd and maybe in the end it will save their once very close relationship on the job and off.
I am happy that Bad Boys 3 will be in theaters July 4, 2015. I love these action movies. And it always helps that Will Smith and Martin Lawrence are two of my favorite actors.

Romancing the Stone with Michael Douglas and Kathleen Turner

Joan Wilder (Kathleen Turner) is an extremely successful venturesome romance novelist---who lives in New York City---with her cat Romeo. Joan writes about action, adventure and romance just as she desired to experience it.

Full of thrills, titillating romantic adventures which changes within a heartbeat, into the abyss of excitement; which Joan lacked in her life. However, she could write about it and bring it to life in the pages of her books.

She is totally different from her character Angelina, who is beautiful, sexy; self-reliant and loves her hero Jessie. It was her imagination and with her typewriter she brought her hero Jessie to bigger than life in every novel. Joan---an excellent writer who lived through her novels---to give it more ambiance; enjoying every second until she typed her last word.

Excitement did not reign in her life as a writer's she had little time to socialize; because of her dedication to writing. Her small circle of friends included her agent Gloria (Holland Taylor); whom she had a meeting with in a local bar to deliver her just completed novel to her.

Gloria tried to get Joan interested in some of the men in the bar; but to no avail. Joan let her know they did not interest her. Gloria said: Why not because they are not Jessie? Joan replied: I know there is someone out there for me. It seemed to Joan they has this same conversation each time they met.

Joan worried about her sister Elaine (Mary Ellen Trainor) who is in Columbia where her husband was recently murdered. She probably thought about this as she opened the door to her apartment and found it burglarized, and before she could call the police to report it her sister Elaine called. She asked Joan if she received an envelope from her husband and did it contain a treasure map?

Ralph (Danny DeVito) and his brother Ira (Zack Norman) kidnapped Elaine and stood by her side as she telephoned her sister Joan. Joan verified she received the package and her sister asked her to bring it to Columbia.

So Joan is now on her way leaving her cat with her agent until she returned. Joan arrived in Columbia and luckily missed connecting with Ralph who was there to drive her to her sister Elaine. But Joan boards a bus to Cartagena or so she thinks. She got on the wrong bus because she accepted assurance from the same man who burglarized her apartment, and killed her super in New York City and is stalking her for the map.

The bus accidentally runs into a parked truck filled with birds. The other passengers leave to walk the bus route; while the wicked stalker talked Joan into waiting for the next bus. And, while she waited patiently sitting on her suitcase, the man who wanted the map pointed his gun at her.

This is the moment Jack Colton (Michael Douglas) a Soldier of Fortune showed up on the hilltop, and the stalker with a gun shot a hole in his water pouch. Then a gunfight breaks out as Jack chases the bad guy away sending his bullets flying over his head as he runs away.

Then Joan asked for Jack’s help to get to Cartagena and offered to pay him. Jack asked for $500.00; but settled for $350.00 in travelers check. And, then the adventure of Joan’s life is born; and so is our movie entertainment.

We can travel along with them through the jungles, mudslides and Crocodiles. We watched as their relationship developed on a closer level; and Joan starts to enjoy her adventure.

So, the once mousy Joan becomes a real beauty as her journey continued and she blossomed into a woman who likes having fun.

Joan’s true life adventure out shined her character Angelina’s in her novels, and Jack emulated
Jessie’s character so closely it is chilling.

I became a fan of Michael Douglas and Kathleen Turner from this movie, and I am still one of their greatest fans, today. I hope you enjoyed my review and please return for more. Thanks.

Uncommon Valor---Gene Hackman, Patrick Swayze & Robert Stack (1983)

Rare courage is what the men in this movie had and they went above and beyond what our own United States Government would not do to bring MIA’s home to their families.

Marine Colonel Jason Rhodes (Gene Hackman) discharged because of his adamant determination to get our government to search for the missing MIA’s that everyone knew were still being held prisoners by Vietnamese.

Even ten years later all anyone in government would say is they were negotiating with the Vietnamese government. And, we all know they did not try, because none of their sons were MIA and it is doubtful any of them even fought in the war.

Besides, this was not a popular war when it was going on, so they mainly just wanted to keep it quiet and not let anyone make waves to draw attention to a war that North Vietnam won.

Colonel Rhodes finally acquired evidences of where the P.O.W. camp’s location---after his son Frank was a MIA---for ten years. MacGregor a wealthy business man financially backed the mission because his son was MIA and fought with Colonel Rhodes son Frank (Todd Allen).

So he begins recruiting the guys who served with his son’s platoon. It was a slow at first, because some of the guys had families and were reluctant to give up their lives after ten years of being home in America.
Finally, he obtained the men he needed for the mission, Blaster (Reb Brown), Sailor (Randall ‘Tex’ Cobb), Kevin Scott (Patrick Swayze), Charts (Tim Thomerson), Johnson (Harold Sylvester) and Wilks (Fred Ward).

All the men had weapons experience and skilled in combat to stay alive in the war. All the men but Kevin Scott; who’s a Former Force Recon Marine and sharp shooter skilled in hand to hand fighting, but no combat experience. Kevin trained the men in a refresher course to get them ready to hit hard, fast and get out with the MIA’s.

Sailor gave Kevin a hard time at first until Colonel Rhodes told the men the reason he was helping. Kevin’s father was a MIA from the Vietnam War, his helicopter was shot down. Then a new respect for Kevin from all the men developed.

The US government spied on the group while they were being trained in Texas and listen in on their conversations; and even had the CIA take their weapons and truck away, but that did not stop them. They used the money MacGregor gave then in Texas before they left from home.

They hired a guide with horses and he brought his two daughters with him to help. The trip was not always easy going through the jungle; but they never complained.  They just made their way until they reached the P.O.W. Camp.

This is an amazing movie---but any movie Gene Hackman is in---is always special. These actors are the “Cream of the Crop” of action actors and some of my very favorites.

Mark Wahlberg in Shooter (2007)

Bob Lee Swagger (Mark Wahlberg) and best friend and spotter Donnie Fenn (Lane Garrison) were on a clandestine Ethiopian mission. Bob earned the title as one of the few supreme marksmen on earth and that is why he was high on a mountain overlooking the road. To protect their military convoy as they drove to their destination.

They were in constant contact with the command post and the top ranking officer in charge. When a surprise group of well-armed Ethiopians came in behind the American military convoy a battle began with Bob and Donnie doing a great job of eliminating the enemy.

Until an enemy helicopter surprised them---to take them out--- they called the command post for help. The top ranking office had closed the command post down as the fighting escalated. The officer in-charge did not want to get caught being in a foreign country without the knowledge of his superiors so he pulled the mission and left Bob and Donnie to fight and get home the best way they could.

And, that is when bullets ripped through Donnie from the helicopter and Bob shot it down. But that did not bring his friend Donnie back; and after he made it home he retired from the military.

That happened three years before and now Bob lived alone in the Rockies with his dog Sam. Bob enjoyed the quiet beauty of his winter wonderland and the peacefulness. He made a few close friends who helped each other out on occasion.

Suddenly, his quietness deteriorated as a black SUV drove down his road, with Colonel Isaac Johnson (Danny Glover) with two of his men, Jack Payne (Elias Koteas) and Louis Dobbler (Jonathan Walker) who came to see Bob on a mission.

Bob avoided any government connection and his dog Sam did not like them either, especially the man name Jack, when Sam growled for them to stop walking near the house, he put his hand on his gun. Bob stepped out and told him to stop with his hand on his knife.

Colonel Johnson called his man off and he and Bob went in the cabin to talk. Long story short he wanted Bob to scout out three different cities the president would be visiting and advised them which city would it be possible for a sniper to take a long-range shot.

The Colonel and his men left without Bob’s answer---he thought about it and then called a friend to stop by and feed Sam for him a couple of days, and then he started on his trip.

Bob found two unlikely sources who helped him and they became friends one was Sarah Fenn (Kate Mara) Donnie’s widow and Nick Memphis (Michael Pena) a FBI agent. They believed in his innocence and helped him until the end.

This movie's exploded with action, mystery, revenge, betrayal, murder; however, some good came out of all the pandemonium. Anyone who missed it at the theater can buy the DVD like I did, and then watch it anytime you want an action movie night alone or with friends.

Taken 2---Liam Neeson, Famke Janssen and Maggie Grace

Bryan Mills (Liam Neeson) is still a retired CIA operative who recently rescued his daughter Kim (Maggie Grace) from a gang of Albanian Human Traffickers. In the process of saving his daughter he killed eight of the gang. And, the leader of the Albanian Gang---Murad Krasniqi (Rade Serbedzija) is out for revenge for the death of his son. He has two sons left and he means to keep them, so they remained behind as he the leader travels to Istanbul to carry out his vendetta against Bryan Mills.

As we learned before in Taken that Bryan Mills retired to live near his daughter in California, so this is where he now spends a lot of his time minus various jobs he takes in security all over the world. He still has his best friend Sam (Leland Orser) who he depends on in any emergency.

His ex-wife Lenore (Famke Janssen) who he calls Lenny---is separated from her second husband who turned out---not-so-nice, because he cancelled a trip they planned together as a family to try and mend all the tears in their marriage. So, when Bryan stops to pick-up his daughter Kim for a driving lesson he finds all this out, therefore, being a good person invites them to join him in Istanbul after his job is over and they surprised him by showing up.

This is when their lives become filled with action and the wrong kind of adventure in the nest of heartless criminals---while frantically trying to stay alive. Bryan’s skills and his daughter’s bravery helped to keep them alive. But Murad Krasniqi is out for blood and he wants the family captured so he can take them to his son's burial site and kill them all.

So if you haven’t seen this movie---I say buy it like I did ---so I can see it over and over with my friends and family. Good movie, and these actors and actresses are great together making the movie come alive. You will  feel every emotion, the extreme pain, the anguish felt while Bryan tried to free himself and his ex-wife. Don’t miss this one if you like action.

Force of Execution---Steven Seagal, Danny Trejo and Ving Rhames (2013)

Alexander Coates (Steven Seagal) is the king of crime as he sits on his throne over-seeing his territory given to him as his birthright. However, deep in his thoughts is a desire to get out of the business. Although he has worked hard for his criminal kingdom and all its monetary gains---he wants more, and maybe that more is a normal life with a family.

But it does not matter what he wishes for at the moment because there’s an issue to handle that takes its place. Alexander sends for Roman Hurst ( Bren Foster) his assassin apprentice who’s trained to function and complete assignments given to him. Roman is as skilled in martial arts as Alexander and proves it by his actions.

Alexander cares for Roman who might be the closest to a good friend he has, but he has trained everyone in employment---that each are responsible for their actions. If they do something wrong they accept their punishment. So, when he sends Roman into a prison to assassinate a prisoner he expects the job completed without complications.

Roman fights his way into the prison using all his skills and then some; and, finally finds the mark and kills him. What appeared as a simple assignment to Alexander is a case of mistaken identity for Roman. So, Alexander being the tough dogmatic king of his empire feels that Roman has embarrassed him. Therefore, Roman will suffer the consequences, and since he is the brave silent type he is ready to do so.

Alexander gives Roman over to gangsters for his punishment with a heavy heart maybe. Or--- is he a cruel demented criminal without one? Roman is hurt really bad as they smashed his hands so he cannot use a gun or his skills to defend himself. He hides to heal while he suffers silently in his dark mood. He stays in a room over a business owned and operated by Jimmy Peanuts (Danny Trejo) and, finally Jimmy helps his hands heal. Jimmy is as mean and dangerous as any criminal and will fight for the ones close to his heart.

When the Ice Man (Ving Rhames) hits town and starts to take over Alexander’s kingdom the fireworks begin, and mayhem and chaos become a normal day. The Ice Man is not afraid of Mr. Alexander as he calls him. However, it is never wise to underestimate a seasoned crime lord. And, this is when Alexander jumps into the mix and shows the Ice Man why he is king of his empire.

I cannot wait to get this DVD and it comes out December 17th 2013. Steven Seagal has been one of my favorite action actors for many years. And, like my chosen white wine---he just gets better and better.

Nicolas Cage & Rachel Nichols in---Tokarev (2014)

Paul Maguire (Nicolas Cage) many years before he started his family he and his cronies Kane (Max Ryan) and Danny Doherty (Michael McGrady) are leading a life of crime. And being young, tough, and arrogant they planned to rob a Russian mobster; which was the biggest mistake of their lives. They interrupted the Russian taking a briefcase of money to his boss. Not only did they get a lot of cash; but as a plus they got a Tokarev, a Russian gun.

So now that Paul is happy with enough money to front a legal business he would leave the criminal lifestyle. O’Connell agreed for him to leave which is rare for a crime boss to do. However, ambushing the Russian started a long-drawn-out war between the Irish Crime Family and the Russian mob. Because of the war going on they hid the money and waited for five years before they met to split it.

Paul started his construction business and his luck continued when he met and married a beautiful intelligent woman named Vanessa (Rachel Nichols). The happy couple soon became three with a daughter name Caitlin (Aubrey Peeples) who is now a teenager. Life is great for Paul; with a successful business, and a family whom he adores. Just how could it get any better he might wonder?

Then just as suddenly when life is bright and glorious---it quickly turns into a living Hell --- for Paul and his wife Vanessa. Paul and Vanessa go to a charity dinner one night while Caitlin stays at home with friends Evan (Jack Falahee) and Mike (Max Flower). The three are having a great time when several Russians break in knocking the boys around and taking Caitlin with them.

Why did this happen after all the years that passed? Who did this to Paul’s daughter? Was it Chernov (Pasha D. Lynchnikoff) or was it O’Connell? How did anyone find out about the ambush so many years ago? Someone had to tell, but who was it?

I cannot wait to see this action in 2014 when the première date's announced. This will be heart-stopper for sure with all the action one can only see in a payback movies. Revenge is deadlier than being mad about lost money. Obtaining revenge--- the hate just boils over and all-wise decisions and common sense goes into orbit---where the fireworks follows.

Sabotage--Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sam Worthington and Terrence Howard (2014)

John Wharton a.k.a. ‘Breacher’ (Arnold Schwarzenegger) is the Boss/Commander of a DEA task force known as the elite members. And, each selected because their training and skills made them the best. And their working together made them a family. They never questioned any assignment instructions from Breacher, as he was their leader and was always front and center of the group when the action began.

This elite group protected each other against many enemies; just wearing DEA on their vests made them targets for terrorists and drug cartels. Each reigned proficient in firearms, marksmanship, weapons safety and strategic shooting including deadly force decision training.

Breacher’s team members are Lizzy (Mireille Enos), Grinder (Joe Mananiello), Pyro (Max Martini),
Monster (Sam Worthington), Sugar (Terrence Howard) and Neck (Josh Holloway). Everyone displayed great respect towards Breacher and really he earned it.

The mission that began all their troubles happened when Breacher as the leader sieges a drug cartel’s safe house; arrested a major cartel leader and confiscation of millions of dollars. Everything is great as the team celebrated their victory.

Then Breacher’s questioned about 10 million dollars missing from the millions in the drug bust. When questioned Breacher said he did not take it. But did the squad take the money and hide it? Does Breacher really not know about the money? Or, was it his plan all the time to take the millions and safely hide it?

Suddenly, an unknown assassin begins killing the team members one by one. Has the drug cartel sent a hit man to send a message to the DEA agents to leave their money alone? Or could it be one of Breacher’s team members who is greedy and does not want to share?

Then FBI Investigator Caroline Brentwood (Olivia Williams) becomes involved after the murder of two members of the squad. She wants to know why someone is killing DEA agents under Breacher. Then it really gets dangerous for Breacher as the leader of the squad; because the Cartel kidnapped his family. This is when it all hits the fan, as nothing will stop him from getting his family back.

It appears another door of Hell has opened---as he shoots his way into the heart of the Cartel, creating maim---they did not know the monster they created when they took his family.

This movie will be in theaters April 11, 2014 and I for one cannot wait. I love Arnold’s movies and I am so happy he is back where he belongs---making movies.

Winter’s Tale (2014) ---Colin Farrell, Russell Crowe and Jessica Brown Findlay

A love that consumed the heart and mind of an Irish thief named Peter Lake (Colin Farrell) and haunted his very soul. Because his one love, soul mate Beverly Penn (Jessica Brown Findlay) was his only true love. Whom he met while robbing an empty house---or so he thought was empty---until he met Beverly---the beautiful lady still at home. He never experienced the feeling of love between a man and a woman before her.

It becomes known to him later that she is very ill; she was dying of consumption (mainly a disease of the lungs) and had only a short time to live her young life to its fullest. His love for her makes him preoccupied with justice---a renewed Peter. Beverly loved and protected Peter to the end of her earthly life.
Colin and Beverly

Love does not know a time and place when it should transpires as love needs no clock to tick the time of it appearance. But when it does arrive--- all other issues are off the table. Because real and true love waits for no one; and it takes no votes to confirm who approved or disapproved---it simply does not give a darn.

Peter Lake’s story begins at the turn of the century when his immigrant parents are not admitted to Ellis Island for reasons unknown to me at this time. He was found and adopted. And his adopted father (Matt Bomer) sent him to school in Manhattan to become a mechanic when he was old enough.

Soon without his consent he becomes a gang member of the ‘Short Tails’ and in time becomes an enemy of the leader Pearly Soames (Russell Crowe). Pearly wanted Peter killed and demanded that his gang of thugs do it. Peter always managed to stay one step ahead of the gang until one day his luck ran out---but he’s saved by a beautiful white horse named Athansor. He becomes Peter’s Guardian Angel.

This mystical love story began in 1916 and evolved to the present day which finds Peter not knowing who he is now. Because he and his Guardian Angel horse Athansor goes through clouds into another time; and time is lost for him. A human mind cannot always take all that the supernatural has to offer.

Then he returns to the modern day where he meets Virginia Gamely (Jennifer Connelly) and Abby (Rigley Sobo) a darling little girl. Virginia befriends Peter and begins to understand his time and presence here is not normal, but she is not sure what is happening. However she knows he is here for a reason---that much she is sure.

Love and destiny rose above the coldest of winters in New York to keep lover’s hearts warm even though their life journey might be as short as it seems in this supernatural world of theirs.

This great love story will open on Valentine’s Day---February 14, 2014 for all the fans to enjoy. So mark your calendars for what I believe to be a love story your heart will long remember.

I want to know if Beverly and Peter are together for always and do they get another chance on earth to be happy and maybe have a family together. One can dream about it until the movie comes out and then we will know. Happy waiting to you all---until a “Winter’s Tale” Premieres on Valentine’s Day.

Divergent---Kate Winslet, Theo James and Shaliene Woodley (2014)

This is a Futuristic movie which depicts one Utopian Society created after years of war and trying to find a place in the world where people feel they belong to a stable society. Everyone needs to belong and feel safe and happy in life. This system replaced the old system of democracy.

So what started out as a livable society became a dogmatic one with a rebellion against it. A society where the people tested into five different groups--- that epitomizes a quality that is morally good. These groups or factions are divided into five different virtues to sustain civilization: The selfless is called Abnegation, the peaceful is Amity, the honest is Candor, the brave is Dauntless and the intelligent is Erudite.

In the beginning the initial groups instructed by the leader of the factions---Jeanine Matthews (Kate Winslet) stated the only way their society would survive if they chose their rightful place and the future belongs to the ones who know where they belong.

Every year all sixteen (16) year olds are given test to find out which group/faction they are best suited.
Then they either chose to stay with their family or go into the group/faction which the Aptitude Test
Results showed they are nest suited.

The society seemed to function rather smoothly although controlled, because each person has to serve their group/faction and when Bernice Tris Prior (Shaliene Woodley) became sixteen (16) years old ---then things changed.

Tris is born into the Abnegation faction because this is the faction/group her parents Andrew Prior (Tony Goldwyn) and Natalie Prior (Ashley Judd) chose for them. And when Tori (Maggie Q) tested Tris---Tori tells Tris she is a divergent. A divergent means different and does not fit into any one group, she tested for three different groups---therefore she is not pure and considered a divergent. Divergents are a threat to this society and it could be life threatening for the unlucky person.

Tris decided to choose the faction Dauntless (the brave) because she never felt like she belonged to her parents group. And when she goes to the Dauntless group she meets Four (Theo James) and her life changes.

Romance begins in a world of unstable circumstances with Four and Tris and will they save others as the rebellion against the cruel leader Jeanine Matthews.  She plans to capture all the Divergents to experiment on because they are resistant to her serum.

I cannot wait to see this movie and it comes out March 21, 2014---it’s like looking into a fiction future. Or will it become true sometime in the future?

Fire Down Below---Steven Seagal & Kris Kristofferson

Jack Taggart (Steven Seagal) is an EPA (Environmental Protection Agent) whose best friend another EPA Frank Elkins (John Diehl) murdered in Kentucky while on an assignment. The Kentucky State Police said it was an accident because his truck fell into the river. The EPA thought differently, and this is why Jack Taggart is on his way to where Frank secured the water sample that tested off the charts for a poisonous substance.

The last time Jack talked to Frank they planned to go hunting and fishing when he returned from Kentucky. But he never returned from Kentucky and neither did two FBI agents who met the same fate.

Frank Elkins went to Kentucky after the EPA received an anonymous letter from a small town in Kentucky named Jackson. The letter stated the water was contaminated with something that was killing the fish and making people so sick they died. And he also sent in his report that an abandoned coal mine shaft proved to be the dumping place for the toxic waste. And, the Hanner Coal Company was owned by a big business tycoon Orin Hanner, Sr. (Krist Kristofferson) who was using it to make millions while he killed the territory around it along with the people.

Orin Hanner, Sr. only cared for himself and the money he made. The people and the land around Jackson Kentucky meant nothing to him; only the millions of dollars he collected from big businesses to dispose of their chemical waste.

When Jack lands his plane--- he met his contact who is Preacher Bob Goodall (Levon Helm) and he takes Jack to his living quarters down from the church. Jack will be undercover as a carpenter while he collects evidence against Orin Hanner, Sr. to put him away for life.

Preacher Goodall gave Jack a list of people who needed work on their houses. On his first day of repairing a home the family had a sick boy who had a rash on his arm. Jack found this out after the sisters told him about their sick brother.

That night Sheriff Lloyd ( Ed Bruce) who is owned by the wealthy Orin Hanner, Sr. drove to the church with Orin Hanner, Jr. (Brad Hunt) who works for his father and is just as mean and crooked as he is. Orin, Sr. wanted to know who Jack was and what he was doing there. Sheriff Lloyd wanted to talk with Jack the new guy in town, but Orin, Jr. said no let the boys scare him first.

In essence the boys did not scare Jack when they put two rattlesnakes in his room, and they did not scare him off when they picked a fight by telling him to “Get Out.” But they ended up as the ones hurt, bleeding and bruised.

The longer he stayed in Jackson the more people will like him and maybe someone will trust him enough to share information. All he needed was more evidence and a witness who will point out the guilty ones in court.

Now, Jack has met Sarah Kellogg (Marg Helgenberger) who appears to live by herself with her bees. Her bees are her only income it seems as Jack witnessed her trading the honey she sold at the local grocery store for food.

They become friends and she helped him in the end and he helps her come out of her dark past which was not her fault. This is a movie with drama, action, adventure and thriller
sprinkled with a little romance.

I hope you enjoyed it.

A Smoky Mountain Christmas---Dolly Parton and Lee Majors

When Lorna Davis (Dolly Parton) a Country Western Singer becomes disenchanted with her life as a recording artist/songwriter she told her agent she needs to get away from it all.  And, her agent Ned (Rene Aberjonois) told Lorna he understood and she can leave for her vacation after 90 days.

Lorna walked away murmuring to herself no one understands. She is completely burnt-out from always recording, performing, writing songs and never resting. And, something is missing in her life and she needs to find out what.

Later that evening, an irritating paparazzi reporter named Harry (Dan Hedaya) climbed up to Lorna’s bedroom window and begged to be let in because of three guard dogs below him that would surely eat him alive. She let him in and call4d for her butler to throw him out.

Harry left alone a few minutes in her bedroom took pictures while Lorna summons her butler. And, one picture was directions to her friend Mary Lou’s grandparent’s mountain cabin. The cabin was not far from where Lorna grew up as a child and always visited her parents; until their death and now she has no one to come home to see.

So with her plans made---she packed and left for her Smoky Mountain vacation---and did not tell anyone where she was going. No one knew but her friend Mary Lou and Harry the grossly annoying paparazzi who followed her.

The next day Lorna is driving down the snowy mountain highway to her long awaited vacation cabin, when she is stopped by the Sheriff John Jensen (Bo Hopkins). Sheriff Jensen mainly stopped her to flirt with a new woman coming to town.

Finally, after admitting Lorna had not violated any laws with her driving the Sheriff regrettably let her go. However, the Sheriff’s flirting did not go unnoticed; because Jezebel (Anita Morris) the mountain witch who proclaimed him as her property---and no one else could have him. Jezebel told him she would put a spell on the blonde if she stayed too long in her area.

Lorna found out after the first night in the cabin that she shared it with seven children. The children found Lorna asleep in her bed and because she was so tired she did not awake until morning. They thought she was an Angel at first.

She was surprised the next morning by the children and suspected they were run-a-ways. But that did not stop her and the children from becoming a family unit before they realized it. Slowly, the empty void began to vanish as Lorna’s life started to mean something again.

Jezebel visited the cabin one night and put Lorna under a spell. And, lead her to the edge of a cliff. Mountain Dan (Lee Majors) saved Lorna from falling off into a mountain river many feet below.

Dan told Lorna about the Mountain Witch Jezebel and she admitted that her Granny wore charms to keep the evil spirits away. Dan showed Lorna his charms and said Jezebel was for real.

This is a great family movie and it has a wonderful ending that I will save for you to find out. Enjoy with your favorite popcorn and soda. May your Holidays be bright and merry.

Non-Stop---Liam Neeson & Julianne Moore in--- (February 28, 2014)

Bill Marks (Liam Neeson) hates everything about flying, the long irritating lines, the crowds, delays, cancellations, and bad airlines’ food.

He appeared in a bad mood on his drive to the airport to board a non-stop international service from New York to London. It is ironic he felt this way, because it is his job to fly.

Why? Bill is a Federal Air Marshal for the Federal Transportation Security Administration. He is a plain clothes-officer on airplanes and in the airports. And, it is his job to travel the airplanes to protect the citizens from criminals and their activity.

Bill is in great physical condition, with Marshal Art’s skills and is proficient in weapon usage and it is his job to recognize and capture dangerous individuals.

This service from New York to London history’s proved a smooth flight in the past---without a threat of a storm or strong turbulence. But today’s flight will yield a change for Bill and all who are on the non-stop flight.

Bill sits by a beautiful red-head named Jen Summers (Julianne Moore). Jen tries talking with Bill, but he makes it short and sweet. He is on duty and it’s not his job to listen politely to a nosy woman who might be lovely but he is not in the mood for lovely.

While everyone is asleep Bill gets a text on his secure line---that informed him if 150 million dollars is not transferred to the account number furnished a passenger will die---every twenty (20) minutes.

This message tells Bill someone has hacked his secure line, but how? He knows Wi-Fi secured and unsecured are easy for hackers, but not true with secure lines. Now his analytical mind goes back to Jen Summers, she was sitting close, but it’s not possible she did anything.

His attention goes to a passenger named Jack Hammond (Anson Mount) he had a feeling about him---so it is best to continued his investigation of everyone.

Bill informed the pilot and other key employees of the situation, and twenty (20) minutes later he finds a dead body---then all Hell opens up as he will stop at nothing to catch the criminal and save the passengers.

This movie has so many twists, turns, and surprises with thrills, action and fireworks it will keep everyone glued to their seats. As the hijacking is just the beginning of the death defying events that followed the passengers as they frantically try to stay alive in this unsolved mystery.
